Balsamic Glazed Mushrooms

Large field mushrooms are a new little fascination of mine. I've always enjoyed mushrooms generally, but I think it was when this dish was made on My Kitchen Rules that the large ones caught my attention. Yes, forgive me I love the show. Didn't think I would enjoy it, being the massive Masterchef fan that I am. Yes, super excited about Masterchef returning on 1 May 2011. Yes, I am counting down. Okay, enough about me.

Okay, back to those mushrooms. This is a side to another Jamie Oliver recipe, namely a lovely steak recipe. On this occasion, I had only cooked the mushrooms. The recipe is from his iPhone app "20 minute meals". An entirely different concept to the "30 minutes meal" thing.

Recipe from Jamie Oliver's 20 minute meal iPhone app (slightly altered)

Ingredients
6 large field mushrooms, with stalks trimmed
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
Balsamic vinegar
Olive oil
Salt
Cracked black pepper
Parsley for a garnish

Method
1. Place a fry pan on a medium heat with a splash of olive oil and lay the mushrooms onto the pan.
2. Fry the mushrooms gently, all in one layer, until it softens and cook on each side. Add the garlic along with a sprinkle of salt and cracked pepper.
3. Turn the heat off and add more olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Shake the pan about to ensure the mushrooms are all nicely coated.
