Bassike - New Arrivals

In my wardrobe basics are the foundation. There is nothing quite like a good basic. I love Bassike. They have such beautiful basics. Especially their new arrivals I've been looking at on their facebook page. Alternatively, check out their online store here. Here are some of my favourites. Want it all. How amazing is that emerald green?

Chorizo Salad with Chickpeas and Tomato

The past few weeks I've been mighty proud. I can count the amount of times I've bought my lunch during the week. I've been making sure I bring left overs from the night before for lunch or making a salad at work. Summer is just a great time for a salad. Unfortunately last week the weather has been been pretty crappy. This salad is a bit of a winter salad. It's not the sort of salad I would have at work. I need my chorizo freshly cooked, nice and hot. I must say I love this salad. Best of all it's a substantial salad.
. .

Recipe from Stone Soup
.
Serves 2
 .
Ingredients
. .
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 chorizo (approximately 200g), sliced
1 can chickpeas (400g), drained
2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 punnet cherry tomatoes (heirloom tomatoes would be even better)
Handful of flat leaf parsley (didn’t have much at the time to add)
 .
Method
 .
1. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a fry pan and preheat on high. Add the chorizo and stir-fry until slightly brown or cooked as you like.
 .
3. Add the chickpeas, paprika and stir through for a couple of minutes. Remove off the heat.
 .
4. Place ingredients into a bowl. Taste, season, and stir through tomato and parsley.

Button it up

November is nearly over and I really can't wait until the New Year. Fresh start and time for some new New Years resolutions. One thing I'm really looking forward to is a trip to Europe in June/July for just over 5 weeks. Just booked the flights this week. Excited as can be!
.
You may recall my love for the white shirt in a previous post. This time around I'm sharing you my love for all button up shirts. Love their versatility. A true classic.
An array of Equipment shirts. Love. Now that is one very cool rainbow.

Inspiration for a balcony

My husband and I have been living in our unit for over a year now. We've had a few things here and there that we have been slowly working on. Installing a chandelier, painting a few rooms, installing new blinds, installing an air conditioner (in the process of doing that) and last but not least redecorating our balcony. The balcony really needs some loving. Some loving is what it's  going to get. Hugs to you my neglected balcony.
.
I've prepared a tentative list of things to do:
.
1. Buy a BBQ. I know how couldn't we have one. I can't wait to have some BBQ's in summer and use it mid week for cooking meats and veggies.
.
2. Paint the flooring and the balcony gate.
.
3. Purchase a new outdoor set. I'm thinking French Bistro furniture. The colour scheme for our apartment is white and grey. I'm thinking the balcony will give us an opportunity to give a pop of colour. However, so tempting to keep it all white but Mr D&E is anti-all white. :( Perhaps bit of white and some of other colour. Not sure.
.
4. Purchase some artificial plants. Maybe a handful of small white pots with bright greenery. I know what is up with the artificial?? Let's just say I've tried having real plants and herbs (yes really herbs) and it didn't work too well. I'm very good at neglecting things.
.
5. Now for some additional treats. Maybe a vase, Moroccan lantern, shisha, something or rather.

I need some inspiration...

I'm in complete utter love with French bistro furniture. Love it! It's bit popular at café's at the moment.
How can one say no to all white? It's heavenly.
Last two pics show furniture from Urban Balcony,  Sydney furniture store. The sets come in an array of colours. They have some beautiful furniture online. Love.
.
These are also pretty cool.
